Would the space shuttle be the quickest way to travel from the USA to Australia?

Using any existing technology would the space shuttle be quickest? How long would it take from the moment of launch to the moment in stopped rolling on landing?
I am assuming the shuttle would be launched in the normal way but with an unusual orbital or suborbital trajectory.

Flight time would be less than an hour I think. You would need to get very close to orbital velocity to go that far. At that speed it takes 90 minutes to complete one orbit of the Earth, and Australia is less than half way around the world from the USA. Of course it takes a very long time to get the shuttle ready for launch, and they frequently cancel a launch for weather or mechanical problems. But if you don't count launch delays it IS fast.
