Canon City, Colorado is a great place to visit for those aficionados of all things that have to do with the era of the Wild West. Buckskin Joe’s Frontier Town and Railway is the perfect place to visit for kids and adults alike. Anyone who loves the Wild West will have a wonderful time exploring all that the frontier town has to offer. When you visit the town, you will have the distinct feeling of steeping back in time well over a hundred years to a time when gunslingers ruled the streets of Western towns. As you start your journey, you will board the Royal Gorge Scenic Railway that will take you into the town. When you get off the train, you can explore the town and its different buildings as well as see mock gunfights and hangings of bandits. The fake gunfights are thrilling and fun. The attraction is pet friendly as well – but some pets might not take kindly to the sound of gunshots so you need to keep them leashed. After a day exploring the town, you can grab a bite to eat at the Gold Nugget Restaurant, and then grab a souvenir and some homemade fudge at the gift shop.
