Suitable adaptor for plugging in a turntable with a DC lead jack already fitted?

I have a record turntable which was used on my previous stereo. I have not bought a new system, which has the red and white audio ports on the rear to insert into the new stereo. However, the turntable isn't mains powered, and a third lead is used for power, which plugged into a DC port on the back of the old stereo, and was powered via the old stereo.

The new stereo doesn't have such a port, and so I am looking for a way to power the turntable directly from the mains. I've looked at a few universal adaptors, but all of them don't accommodate for when the appliance already has a jack. Are there any adaptors which allow for the jack from the appliance to be plugged into the adaptor, rather then the jack from the adaptor having to be plugged into the appliance?

I think what you need is the equivalent of a pre-amp that will allow you to power the turntable - and then just hook the audio signal into the RCA plugs on the back of your new stereo.

Check with some stereo shops - although it might be a better bet to simply get a new turntable.
