If you are in the Coeur d'Alene area of northern Idaho in the summer, then you should try to catch a show put on by the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre. Each summer, the group puts on a variety of different shows during June, July, and August. The Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre, which puts on shows at the Schuler Auditorium on the North Idaho College Campus, was founded in 1967 and has been entertaining people ever since. It is the oldest performing arts troupe in the state. One of the most popular recent shows was Les Miserables, the famous musical based on Victor Hugo's novel. Other shows include Once Upon a Mattress, and La Cage aux Folles. The theatre changes their shows each year. Those who come to the city will find plenty to keep them busy when they aren't enjoying one of the shows as well. There are plenty of parks, water activities, and great places to eat in Coeur d'Alene. It is a nice, friendly place for the whole family to visit.
