Where to stay in the Cape? I have been selling Cape Town holidays for more than 5 years and the biggest challenge is helping the client chose the area to stay. Most people from the UK are after a Camps Bay villa or apartment but because of the demand, prices are the highest in town and I sometimes wonder why people spend so much. True, Camps Bay has the best combination of restaurants, beaches and scenery and a great selection of places to stay, but how about Bloubergstrand for an alternative. The beaches are bigger, you get a great view of Table Mountain and there are now loads of restaurants to chose from. Not many large villas on offer but there is a great selection of apartments and I think it makes a great base.
