Spring Airsoft gun pistol in airplane (checked luggage)?
I live in Atlantic Canada. My dad is on a business trip in china right now and he bought me a spring pistol airsoft gun (it's black non see-through). On the box it says P329 double eagle and it shoots 6mm plastic BB's. He's coming home in about 2 weeks and I was wondering if it's allowed in the Checked Luggage (not hand baggage). If they say no, will he get arrested or anything? Serious answers only please.
It doesn't have an orange tip.
The general rule for firearms on aircraft is the it needs to be in a locked case - and shipped within your checked baggage.
Your father should also inform the ticket agent when he checks in that he has that pistol, in a locked case, in his bag. You do not want to surprise the people who are screening the checked bags - that could be bad news.
However, since this does not shoot bullets, the rules may be different. He, or you, should call the airline and inquire specifically about their rules for transport of this kind of weapon.
